We are excited to invite students in grades 9 to 12 to The Journey—a high school youth pilgrimage to historic St. Clement’s Island in Colton’s Point, MD, which St. Mary's County Catholic parishes have proudly hosted since 2022—on September 26, 2026.
On March 25, 1634—now celebrated as Maryland Day—English colonists arrived on St. Clement’s Island in search of religious freedom. In thanksgiving, Jesuit priest Fr. Andrew White erected a cross and celebrated the first Catholic Mass in the English-speaking New World. The Journey pilgrimage allows our youth to retrace the steps of these early settlers, reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us, and be inspired to carry on this tradition of faith.
